Mount Nemo White Birch
Mount Nemo is a part of the Bruce Trail with amazing views of the greater Toronto area. The day that we walked this part of the trail it was very cold and icy. This tree painting is all cool winter colours and soft lighting.

Beamer Hemlock
I never know which of my photos will work well as paintings until I get home and view and edit them. This photo when edited had a great composition and bright spring colours.

Mount Nemo White Birches 2
Not just black and white the colours of the white birches and the snow covered ground are soft tones of purple and blue. The most simple subjects and low lighting can still result in a great tree painting.

Halton Falls White Birches
The formation of the cluster of trees is the focus of this tree art. I take many photos of the groups of birches and then choose the one with the most effective composition. The complementary colours yellow and purple are also a delicious colour combination.

Beamer Summer Birches
The bright summer sun sparkled in the trees on this hot afternoon. You can feel the warmth of these colours and the cool shadows lie in sharp contrast.

Bruce Peninsula Birches
Many of my tree paintings are looking up at trees. I find this angle much more interesting and less static than a straight on view of a tree. I love the warm summer colours in this whimsical tree painting.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Winter Ash
This is a tree that I pass every time I walk into work. The purple on the branches is actually soft fluffy snow that built over the course of some snow flurries.

Bruce Trail Cedar Stump
The stump and the shape of the roots along with the fallen tree create and interesting composition for this winter tree painting. The cool violets pop beside the oranges of the fallen leaves.

St David's London Plane Tree
Trees are often more interesting when they don't have their summer foliage. The shape of the branches and the subtle colours of the bark are much more visible when a tree is in it's winter state.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Ash
This particular tree is no longer there. It fell victim to the ash bore plague that has devastated all the ashes in Niagara. I was lucky enough to get a photo of this enormous tree while it was still healthy.
